The folks at Engine Technology International Magazine recently announced their 2016 Engine of the Year Awards in 12 engine size categories. Ford engines made the short list in four of the categories (International Engine of the Year, Green Engine, Sub 1 Litre, New Engine) and had 2 engines in a fifth category ( 2 – 2.5 litre).
Of these 5 categories, Ford 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine placed 1st (Sub 1 Litre) for the 5th straight year, beating out 32 competitors. The 1.0-litre EcoBoost is available in the Fiesta SE and Focus SE in Canada, delivering 123 horsepower and 125 lb.-ft of torque in both vehicles.
